Mountain: 10 national parks to see once in a lifetime.

During the confinement, we had a lot of time to reflect and sort out our priorities in life. And one question came up often in our heads, what are the 10 places to see once in a lifetime when you are a mountain lover? To summarize in ten places the incredible beauty of the mountains on our planet is impossible. So we had to make some drastic choices in our selection of the 10 national parks to see once in a lifetime on our magnificent planet. 

Triglav Park - Slovenia

Triglav Park - Slovenia

The Triglav National Park is the only park in Slovenia, but it is home to incredible natural sights and offers countless experiences. It has countless high peaks, alpine valleys and lakes, as well as an extremely diverse flora and fauna. A true corner of paradise still spared from mass tourism.

Yosemite Park - USA

Located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the mythical Yosemite Park is full of natural wonders that you should not miss! Yosemite in California in addition to its magnificent glaciers and its breathtaking mountains, the park is home to the highest cliff in the world (El Capitan) and also the highest waterfall in North America (Yosemite Falls). In short, it would be a real shame to miss such a spectacle. 

Banff Park  - Canada

It is Canada's most famous park and there is a reason for that, Banff represents the vastness and beauty of the Canadian mountains.

With its snow-capped mountains, towering forests and turquoise lakes, Banff Park will provide you with a breathtaking wilderness adventure. Unfortunately, the park is a victim of its own beauty and tourists are flocking to enjoy it. It is hoped that a regulation of mass tourism will be put in place to save this incredible jewel of Canada.

Fiordland Park - New-Zeland

New Zealand's largest and wildest park deserves its place in our top 10, thanks to its sublime fjords, including the grandiose Milford Sound.

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Fiordland has more than 14 fjords, overwhelming waterfalls and large glacial lakes. Fiordland National Park is undoubtedly one of New Zealand's most beautiful natural sites. It is worth the trip itself!

Cocorico, we were obliged to place in our top a French park, we chose the magnificent Parc des écrins. It takes its name from the mythical Barre des Écrins with its 4102 m of altitude. It is the largest French national park, the perfect place to go on an adventure with over 730 km of trails.

It is considered by many as the High Mountain Park, authenticity guaranteed with its majestic peaks, its grandiose glaciers and its lakes.

Sagarmatha Park - Nepal

Sagarmatha Park - Nepal

Sagarmatha National Park in Nepal is the highest national park in the world with an average altitude of over 6000m, it covers more than 124,400 hectares. The park is home to the world's most famous and highest peak, Mount Everest, at 8848m. You will have to pay an entrance fee and collect all your garbage to access Sagarmatha.  

It offers incredible mountainous landscapes with many peaks exceeding 7000m, magnificent glaciers and steep valleys, the park also hosts very rare species such as the snow leopard or the small panda.

This unique natural setting is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The park will offer you many adventures, Lukla and its most dangerous airport in the world, the purity of the lakes of Gokyo and the typical Himalayan atmosphere of Namche Bazar. Much more than a simple park, a real sanctuary with open skies.

Maloti Drakensberg Park - South Africa / Lesotho

Maloti Drakensberg Park - South Africa / Lesotho

The Drakensberg Mountains are a huge basalt range that marks the border between South Africa and Lesotho. Drakensberg, the Dragon Mountain, is composed of several peaks over 3000 meters in altitude with its highest point, Thabana Ntlenyana, at 3482 meters.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its breathtaking natural scenery, the park is home to many endangered and endemic species, it is also known for its many rock paintings dating back over 4000 years. It is difficult to describe the beauty of this park so rich and varied landscapes. To know more about it, you will have to go there.  

Dolomites Bellunesi National Park - Italy

Dolomites Bellunesi National Park - Italy

The Dolomites, a massif of the Italian Alps, are also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This park offers an unparalleled wealth of pink limestone mountains, dizzying valleys, lush meadows and ruby blue lakes. The Dolomites Bellunesi is one of the most beautiful national parks in Europe, it offers landscapes with colors and morphology unique in the world, a real paradise for hikers, mountaineers and skiers. The park is located in an area particularly difficult to access, far from any human action, so the fauna and flora that it houses have continued to develop. Summer is the ideal time to enjoy the beauty of the park. 

Los Glaciares - Argentina

Direction l'Amérique du Sud, pour nous rendre dans l'un des parcs les plus grandioses du monde, le parc national de Los Glaciares en Argentine.  Le site offre une beauté naturelle exceptionnelle grâce notamment à ses sommets découpés, ses nombreux lacs glaciaires et ses paysages féeriques.

Le parc est divisé en 2 zones avec les glaciers au sud du parc, dont le plus connu, le Perito Moreno et le massif du Fitz Roy au nord du parc national avec son sommet mythique du même nom. La richesse que vous offrira Los Glaciares est tellement incroyable qu'elle vous marquera à vie.

Huascarán Park - Péru

We stay on the American continent for this last spot of our top, with the park of Huascarán in Peru located in the White Cordillera, the site owes its name to the summit which it shelters, it is about the highest point of the country with 6 768 m! The park offers a variety of very dense landscapes with its magnificent lakes of high mountain, its glaciers and its immense canyons. It is the habitat of the mythical Andean condor, but also of more unknown species such as the Andean cat and the amazing spectacled bear! 


Also classified as a UNESCO heritage site, this park is home to more than 660 glaciers, 40 rivers, 260 lagoons, large canyons and 27 mountains over 6000 meters high. We advise you the incredible and unavoidable Paron lagoon with its turquoise color.   


Small fun fact to bring out in evening with your friends, the logo of the Paramount studios is inspired by a summit of the white mountain range, the mount Artesonraju.

Traveling is often an opportunity to test your limits, to know yourself better by confronting a different world. Traveling often allows you to refocus on the essential, traveling is a discovery of the unknown, it necessarily requires respecting the way of life of the other and learning to accept the difference. If we wish to have a more united world in the future, it will be through more responsible and enriching travel.
