1. The Badlands Guardian - Canada


The Badlands Guardian is a mountainous formation, which curiously forms from the sky an Indian's face with head and headdress. It is located near Medicine Hat in the county of Alberta in Canada. Seen from the ground, one does not distinguish anything this geological oddity is visible only from the sky. The locals attribute to this place mystical powers of healing.

2. Shangri-La Valley - China 

You must have already heard of the mythical city of Shangri-La, it is actually an imaginary place described in the 1933 novel Lost Horizon by James Hilton. 
In order to boost tourism, some regions of the Buddhist Himalayas such as Tibet, Bhutan or China claim the name Shangri-La. Thus in China, the county of Zhongdian was renamed, Shangri-La in 2001, to attract tourists with a huge inscription installed on a mountain of the valley visible from the ground, but also from Google Maps.

3. The Fort of Mount Chaberton - France 


Nicknamed the Fort of the Clouds, Mount Chaberton is located in France in the Southern Alps. Italy built in 1898 at the top of the mount Chaberton a battery of eight masonry towers topped by cannons facing France and the fort of Briançon, serving for the defense of the Montgenèvre pass.
You can see these impressive military batteries on Google Maps which offers an unusual perspective from the sky in the middle of the Alps.

4. Elephant Glacier - Greenland


Located in the north of Greenland, in the Kronprins Christian peninsula. This glacier offers an unusual phenomenon that resembles an elephant's foot, seen from the sky we can distinguish even better this shape and its impressive size.

5 Mount Taranaki - New Zealand

This time, we take you to the other side of the planet to discover one of New Zealand's jewels.

Mount Taranaki is a 2518 meter high volcano that is located in the west of the North Island of New Zealand. Seen from the sky, the volcano looks like a UFO with a perfectly round dark green area. This green area is covered with trees and the central area, it is covered with snow and volcanic rock.

6 Malaspina Glacier - Alaska


The Malaspina Glacier is a circular glacier lobe, one of the largest in the world, which is why it is so beautiful and world famous.  It is over 38 kilometers long and 32 kilometers wide and has an area of 3,900 square kilometers.

7 Uluru - Australia


Uluru, also called Ayers Rock, is one of the emblems of Australia. It is a rock formation that rises to 348 meters located in the heart of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. It is a sacred place for the Aborigines which is also classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.  This fascinating place seen from the ground, offer us shades of shadows seen from the sky that distort the perspectives and make the place even more mystical.
